Map Your Network Drive

Okay, so hopefully you won't have to do this, but just in case something happens and you can't find your U drive anywhere in the My Computer folder of a Windows machine, you can follow the following instructions to get it back. 

1. Open up the My Computer folder on the desktop. 
2. Go up to Tools and choose Map Network Drive. 
3. From the drop-down menu labeled Drive: , Select the letter "U:"
4. In the text area below labeled Folder: type the following line of text:

   \\samba\username

   where in place of the text username you would type your own username.  For instance, if your username is "mmouse" then you should enter: \\samba\mmouse.

5. If you are not on an Owlnet computer (possibly on your own personal computer), click "connect using a different user name" and enter your username and PC password. Click OK.
   Note: If you are on a public computer that does not require you to log on with your pc password, do not map your network drive.  Doing so may allow anyone who uses that computer to see your files.
   
6. Click "Finish" when you are done. Your newly mapped U: drive should appear in My Computer.
