DSP BORDER

Attenuation - The absorption of a photon, or any charged particle, by matter.

Back Projection - A technique of reconstructing images from projections taken of an object at interval angles.

Gamma Camera - The basic instrument used to produce a nuclear medicine data by transforming emission data into a sliced image.

Nuclear Medicine - A method of analyzing functionality and structure of organs, bones or tissues by using radiopharmaceuticals and special cameras to trace paths through patients' bodies.

Radon Transform - a collection of 1-D projections around the object at angle intervals phi.

SPECT (Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography) - provides a 3-D computer-reconstructed images of multiple views of the region of interest.

Tomography - (Greek tomos meaning "to cut or section" and graphein meaning "to write") A method of separating intereference from the area of interest by imaging a cut section of the object.
