1976: Cray-1 (80 MFLOPS = 8.0x107 FLOPS)


2000: Intel Pentium 4 microprocessor (12 GFLOPS = 1.2x1010 FLOPS)

 


2006:  IBM BlueGene/L  (207 TFLOPS = 2.07x1014 FLOPS)


And to put it all in perspective....

 

~200,000 BC (~5,000 BC?): Human Brain (~100 PFLOPS = 1.0x1017 FLOPS)
