Using Git from the Command Line

Installation

Windows
- Download from https://git-scm.com/download/win
  - Select the "64-bit Git for Windows Setup"
- Install using all the default choices.
Mac
- Open the Terminal application and type: xcode-select --install
Linux
- Git should be already installed but check the version to see if is at least version 2 by opening a terminal and typing: git --version
  - If the installed Git is out-of-date, install a new version by typing (Ubuntu example): sudo apt install git
