COMP 404 Fall 2014	Communications Assignment 2: Composites in the Real World

Question:  

Describe and analyze at least 2 examples of the Composite Design Pattern in the "real world", that are NOT in computer science.

• The examples must be describable in terms of an entity being composed of other entities that are abstractly equivalent to itself.  
  • You'll need to clearly and carefully define your interpretation of this!
  • Be very clear and complete as to how your examples fit your "real world" interpretation of the Composite Design Pattern.
• The examples cannot be from computer science including programming or systems.   Do not settle for clichéd examples such as nesting Russian dolls!   Look for the non-obvious.
• Your discussion should, at least, address these issues:
  •  How does the composite nature of the example help or enable it to achieve its purpose(s) or goal(s)?
  • How does your analysis change the way that you see the world around you?
