Wavelet-Based Text and Image Segmentation A first step in Computer Generated Caricatures

With the advancement in technology of computer graphics and design, we attempted to design computer generated caricatures from photographs. This is a very difficult task that must be broken down into several steps. This web page includes an explanation of our first step: wavelet-based text and image segmentation. Our goal for this part of our project includes: developing an algorithm to segment an image into text, picture, and background using Daubechies wavelet transform.
