Sound-cancellation is really a quite simple idea.
Sounds are waves, and waves have the nice property that if the negated
version of a wave is added to that wave, the result is zero. Therefore,
in order to completely get rid of a sound, all you have to do is
negate (invert) that sound wave, and add the two together, et voila!
Zero. No sound.In theory, that is...
Sound cancellation sounds simple enough, but there are many factors that
go into
actually making it work. This project in electrical engineering is a basic
experiment in sound-cancellation.
