When asked to read a SW modeling file the partial path is C\Users\Public\Public Documents\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS 2019\tutorial ------------------------------------------------------------------- Mech 403 Fall 2019 Announcements ------------------------------------------------------------------- 12/19/19 Grades have been posted. ABET accreditation agency requires examples of good average and poor assignments. After they are completed papers will be returned outside room ME241. 11/30/19 Holiday hours and building construction will prevent me from recovering submitted design reports until Monday morning. Graded reports will be placed outside ME 241 as soon as practical. Any revised report is due the last day of classes, along with the prior report. 11/13/19 I wish to review the simulation progress with each design group to verify the assumptions and nboundary conditions. 11/6/19 The ME office has moved for renovation. The prior dropbox is not accessable. The new one is by the front door as a slot in the top of a file cabinet. 10/16/19 ? Where ? are you? Eight of the sixteen class members failed to appear in class to have the mandatory discussion with me about the required group design project! 9/26/19 The paper copy of your dimensioned drawings of the solid part (and future assingments) at to be turned in only at class or at the "Dropbox" wall slot near room ME 109 in the Mechanical Engineering Building. Any due date refers to a 5 pm drop off in the Dropbox. Drawings submitted where the student CLEARLY has not completed reading HelpFiles 2a and 2b and Weekly Notes 1 and 3 will be labeled "Follow the Instructions", will not be corrected, and will still count as one of the three allowed submissions. Marked papers will be returned to class. Unclaimed papers will be placed in the mech 403/203 cubby box outside room ME 241. 9/17/19 The national accrediation group for ME has extended the required materials to be covered to include ethics and conflicts of interest. Therefore, I have expanded the first tutorial assignment to include also reviewing the ASME Conflict of Interest Policy in addition to the ASME Code of Ethics. Several sections of the conflict of interest policy apply only to employees of the ASME. However, you should view them as if they apply to a company that you founded, or to a current employer. These two documents must be discussed as a part of your tutorials log which is due on the last day of classes. Copies of both documents are linked at the bottom of the class web page. 8/26/19 (I am being treated for stage 4 lung cancer and may have to miss class on short notice. In that case, proceed with the required SolidWorks tutorials.)
