The following symbols are used to denote the most common dimension errors. This does not mean that the instructor has marked or found all errors on the preliminary drawing. Some errors may be missed in marking the drafts. IT IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THAT EVERY DESIGN INTENT DIMENSION, AND NO OTHER, IS IN THE VERSION TO BE GRADED ! Symbols Used for Dimension Revisions on Solid Part Drawing: Arrow Move dimension to noted location Circle Marks crossing leaders, dimensions, or arrows Triangle Error in the part and/or dimension ***** A>, A< Increase/decrease arrow size (Options) AF Scale arrow to font size (Options) AI Place arrows inside leader lines (unless overlap) AL Aline chained dimensions to be collinear AO Move overlapping arrows to outside the leaders A3 Align the three standard views (usually in LLC) CD Chain together dimensions to become collinear CN Center dimension number between arrowheads D>, D< Increase/decrease number of displayed digits DD Put dimension one font height away from dimension DP Put dimension one font height away from part Dup Duplicate dimension, keep only the true shape one FD Avoid dimension to a fillet edge F>, F< Increase/decrease font size (Options) HD Avoid dimension to hidden line HL Hide this reference line, plane or sketch LT Line goes through text or dimension value **** MA Missing auxilary view MD One or more design intent dimension is missing MS Missing section view NDI Dimension not design intent, *** delete it *** NH No hidden lines in this view OB Move dimension off the body RH Radius and diameter should not be horiz or vert S>, S< Increase/decrease view scale size SH Show hidden lines in this view SL Small dimension crosses large dimension TS Move this dimension to a true shape view Include hiddden lines except in isometric and section views, unless they cause major clutter. Detail views should enlarge small features in a true shape view.
