FFT Analysis

     generates partial spectra like the one shown below. The FFT is the most common method of spectral analysis, because it is so computationally inexpensive. It shows how a signal is composed of complex exponentials. However, when applied to ECG the FFT creates a very noisey looking signal which makes it hard to pick out specific peaks.
