Honor Code
On some assignments, you will work individually. You may discuss problem-solving approaches with other students, and you can help find another student's programming mistakes, but you are expected to do the bulk of the work and the final coding yourself.
On some assignments, you will work in assigned pairs. Some accomodation will be made if there are an odd number of students. You should work almost exclusively with your partner, although you may help find other student's programming mistakes. Pairs should submit only one copy of the assignment.
Exams must be done individually.
Grading
Grades will be based upon a combination of
- roughly biweekly assignments (probably including a larger project for COMP 130) — 55% of the total score, and
- three exams — 10%, 15%, and 20% of the total score, respectively.
Late assignments
Assignments are due when specified on OWL-Space. Assignments turned in 0–24 hours late will be assessed a 10% penalty. Assignments turned in 24–48 hours late will be assessed a 20% penalty. Assignments will not be accepted more than 48 hours late. In the case of sickness, emergency, or school-related travel, contact the instructors for a penalty-free extension. Having too much work or mismanaging your time is not considered an emergency.
Grading disputes
If you believe that your work was graded incorrectly, please contact the original grader within 14 days of the work being returned, and describe what should be regraded and why. If you still disagree with the grading, then contact the course instructors.
Disabilities
Students with disabilities should contact the course instructor and Disability Support Services regarding any accommodations that they may need.
