Problems include the detection of the endpoints of the
actual speech in a given waveform and the varying speed or volume of a
given speech signal. Several techniques are used to solve the various
problems discussed above. A clever endpoint detection algorithm is
utilized to determine the beginning and end of speech in any given
waveform. Finally, dynamic time warping is used to compensate for the
varying speed of a person's speech. This is much more effective than
linear scaling to map one signal to another.
PROBLEMS - "No matter how great and destructive your problems may seem now, remember, you've probably only seen the tip of them." |
