Linear Filtering

focuses on filtering the signal to remove most of the noise, and then on using other filter products to determine the likelihood that any given point is a heart beat. It also employs a recursive algorithm which makes an initial approximation of the heart rate, and then uses this function to set up a bank of comb filters that detect the strength that any given point is running at the specified frequency.
