The PCIRS Is Finished! [20.dec.99]Yo, yo, yo! What's up? We'd like to apologize to all of our fans for the month long hiatus of the nPhaze Boys. We were body movin'.. finishing up the development of the Playing Card Image Recognition System for our ElectroCasino. Guess what? The elite system is finished. Check it. Here's the link. Peace out.
NPB Algorithms In Development [28.nov.99]Our system will be able to analyze a snapshot of a poker hand (taken with our discretely hidden NPB digital cameras) using the Scanning For Your Love (SLA) and the Matchmaker O' Love (MOLA) algorithms. From just one picture, the elite system will output the hand in fully digitized text. Ain't that sweet?
The SLA sweeps across the picture looking for the corners of the cards (the vital info) through Roberts edge detection. With the crucial corners marked, the MOLA takes over. It scans the corners with a library set of standardized images to match the cards. After scanning all of the special spots, the fully digitized text containing the cards in the hand is outputted. Once working, the NPBs will look into more complex cases (rotation being the likely candidate). The research page will be going in a few days.

Being the keen businessmen, the NPBs want to keep the dollars rollin' in.
