This course is a fun, hands-on introduction to the key concepts of electrical/mechanical/computational systems. Each student will use a small mobile robot to learn about block diagrams, abstraction and modularity, energy storage and conversation, feedback and control, digital communications, and software design. All interested freshman are welcome, no previous experience or prerequisites are required. The course will conclude with a 30-robot final design project. This class is for Freshman only.
Freshmen who want to explore engineering and its various subjects should
check this class out. The class will cover topics from electrical engineering,
mechanical engineering, and computer science. However, many concepts taught in
this class can be brought into any engineering discipline. No prior experience
is necessary - we have specifically designed the class for all experience
levels, and want to encourage all interested students to sign up.
The course enrollment is limited by the total number of robots we have avilable. If the class is full and you cannot register online, please come to the first lecture anyway. We will admit as meny students as possible.
