Our goal is to remove
unwanted noise out of audio files such as: claps, cell phone rings,
coughs, and other unexpected noises. Immediate applications of
this project include removing short time noise out of musical
recordings. Motivated by a recording experience in which an audible
cough disrupted the quality of the recording, we decided to analyze
the current methods available to remove such short time noise
from signals. Two methods of analysis were researched, and using
a C++ implemenation of one of these, code was developed to remove
such short time noise.
